The Xbone S is good for upscaling 4K Blu-Rays, but if you have no intention of using that particular feature, you are good to go. It's a slim Xbone with the additional 4K Blu-Ray player, it's not for 4K gaming, but for the 4K movie watching.

The Xbone Scorpio releasing a year from now is actually designed for 4K gaming, and that may be the time to upgrade to a new 4K TV, as prices will be coming down on actual good 4K TV sets. Right now, many of the so called 4K TVs are lower end, low Hz models.

if you are market to buy a new tv yes get one its worth it. the prices on the good ones are in the price range that decent 1080p LED tvs were when they first came out around $1200ish for a decent sized one.

but if you just want to get one for gaming then wait til scorpio comes out.

I would say no, unless you looking to watch UHD movies I don't see the point in getting a 4K for the XS cause it doesn't really benefit gaming too much.

The main differences between regular X1 and X1S is:

1. It can play 4k UHD Blu Rays and 4k Streaming Content such as Netflix and Hulu.

2. It has it's own upscaler to upscale games to 4k. Keep in mind, most 4k tv's upscale the displaying content regardless. However some say the X1S upscaler is better, but that depends on the owner's tv.

3. It's overclocked to help run games smoother but beware this is very minor, Your talking about a 4 - 5 frame difference and in one or two games only.

I have noticed Gears of War 4 looks better on my X1S when upscaled by the system as opposed to my tv upscaling it. Just speaking from personal experience.

Besides that, if you can wait, then go ahead. Happy Holidays

@TurboGraphix: Nicely said! A lot of people argue and disagree with what you said but you're spot on.
