Renewal/name change

Hiya, I am going to be renewing my gold membership soon, I was wondering if when I do I can change my name for free, but keep all my stats/gamer points/friends/DLC. I wont pay the $10 to change it, but I want it changed but i'll keep it the same name if I have to lose all of my stuff, thanks, any help is appreciated.

Are you asking if you can make a whole new gamertag with a new subscription and transfer all your DLC stuff over? I think thats a no.AutoPilotOn

you can change your gamertag but only for 800 MS points($10) the only way to get new gt for free is make new account and no your friends?gamerscore and rep do not transfer over with a new account. if you pay 10 bucks every thing will stay the same and nothing excpt your gt will change if you make new account game saves will not work with that account but i think DLC will but you need to authorize he account on xbox.com

It's been a year now since I got sick of my gamertag but I won't pay a buck for changing it... even though I feel stupid every time I look at it :(
