Hi, I bought the arcade xbox 360 with the 256MB.Im hoping to get xbox live though and it syas i need at least 512 MB or something and i looked it up.It costs 50 dollars at walmart.

But, at gamestop, they have used 20g hard drives i think. Are used hard drives still good and worth it?Should i get that instead?

just get a used one. They will work fine.

For xbox live you will REQUIRE a HDD. A memorey stick will not work.

I doubt you would have a problem with a used hard drive from Gamestop. I think they should warranty if for at least 90 days, check with them.

Ya dude a new HDD is probably under $100 by now. You need the space for Live, demos, trailers, and the big amount of game profiles you use/create over the months and years. The 256mb is absolutely nothing... 20 GB!!

My buddy just bought his off amazon for $90 instead of buying the used one, thought that was kinda ironic. Anyway here ya go: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-20GB-Hard-Drive/dp/B000B6ML32/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1207785720&sr=8-1

The reason why I recommend a new one over an old one is the old one may be fragmented or something, thus having it run slower, file corruption possible, etc.shadow8585

If it has been reformatted and refurbished it should be as good as new. Plus, Gamestop will give a warranty.

I'd go for the used one and save thirty bucks.
