I have a choice of getting a premium 360 console for around $200-250 with controllers, headsets, free subscription for Live, and all the extras, or for $400 something i could get an Elite..

I was just wondering which one i should pick up, i like the elite because its black. haha yeah, i know. but i have also heard of them having problems or not being as good as the premium console...

what do you all think?

thanks for any help!

well it depends if you're a casual gamer you can get the premium which come with the 20 gig HDD but if like dowloading stuff in the 360 then definately get the elite......the plus side is you will be saving a lot of money with the premium. you can by the 120gig HDD later if you get adictive to live.

other way around, the elites are more reliable, and the premiums, or at least the older ones, aren't as reliable.

Buy a elite or wait for the premiun to start being shiped with hdmi ports
But I'll would say, get a elite, 20 gb disc ins't enough if you download every maps/expansions for your games

what is there to download on Live?

The premiums ive been looking at were newer ones not the ones that came out when the 360 was just released, i do know about the problems they had.

I already have a ton of 360 games, ive just been so caught up in my games for my other systems that i didnt want to buy the 360 yet and then i wouldnt get around to playing all my other games.

ive also heard of people having problems with their Elite's too which is why im a little weary of just buying the elite straight up instead of the premium which i can get extras for..

If you can afford the Elite it would be the smarter buy because if you run out of space with the 20gb HD, you sure as hell aren't going to want to pay the ridiculous asking price of the alternative, which is a 120gb HD for $180. That 120gb HD already comes with the Elite so you're covered, plus if you like black the Elite is much better looking.;)

XBox 360? Premium? $250 or LESS?

OMGOMGOMG

I'd say get that deal. Especially with the controllers, headset, and most of all, the free live subscription. =D

I have a premium, and it's just fine. It's also, IMO, the better deal than the Elite.

The only reason im looking at the premiums is because i heard the Elites are louder and people have been having problems with the controllers..which if thats gonna be a problem for me ill just buy another controller, no biggie...

also we're going to buy a new television when we buy the 360.. or rather, im buying the 360 my boyfriends buying a really good television :D but im probably going to end up getting a 360 probably this weekend, and since the elite comes with the hdmi and such (stupid question time) it will still play just fine on a normal television right.. i mean the television is only a year old but its not hi def or anything... [end stupid question]

Get one of the new premiums that has the HDMI-out option. This means the console is using the Zypher motherboard (the EXACT same hardware as the Elite) The only difference now is that the Elite is 1) black, and 2) bigger HD.

...also, I'm not saying to buy it BECAUSE of the HDMI output. I'm just saying that any of the new Premium's that have the HDMI output also have the Zypher motherboard....I don't even have a HD-TV, doesn't matter though, the graphics are still freaking incredible.

Will the premium 360 say HDMI on the box if it has it?

well, obviously itll be on the back. DUH me

I think i may shoot for trying to find a premium with hdmi, if not or if i cant find one cheap ill either just get a regular premium now since i can get them cheap and one day get an elite if i feel i need more space... i can always get a case made up from a friend of mine who does that stuff and sells it on ebay.

Get the elite it has a much bigger hard drive and i heard it was quicker but i dunno for sure, the premium is just as good if you dont have a lot of files to save on it, such as music, videos pics ECT!
