Playing COD 4 Beta right now

Guys, I had the priviledge of being one of the first to download the COD 4 multiplayer beta, and I did so this evening. This game is something else. It's a ton of fun to play, the graphics are terrific and the frame rate is oh so smooth.

There are only three maps in the beta and they are all very different from each other. Overgrown, City Streets, and Vacant.

The music of the game, in the menu, is very "Enemy of the State" like and, if you like the music from that movie, you will like the music from the game.

There is a lot of incentive to be careful when you play deathmatch because of the incentives you get when you get a string of kills. You can use Radar to find enemies, and you can call in air strikes. Pretty cool.

You can also create your own classes and assign perks to that class and then employ them in battle using the 360's dpad.

The beta will officially go public in about a week or so. Be sure to check it out.

I don't think I will know the exact date, just in a "week or so." I didn't even know the full title of COD 4 until it went public. Just be patient. It's worth the wait. I only got a taste of it tonight and, to be honest, I'm not good at it!

It's only 12 players in the beta for free for all and team deathmatch modes.

Team tactical mode is 2v2 or 3v3, so max of 6 players.

You don't check it there. You check it under my status. The game is not going to be listed as a "game played" until it is released officially in November.

It's such a blast to play, but I'm not very good at it. Mostly I was playing against the Infinity Ward guys last night, and they have been, of course, playing this game for months. They are smoking me left and right. I don't get enough kills in a string to use the special attacks like air strikes.

That, and finding a game right now is pretty difficult since only a small amount of people have the beta. It should pick up later tonight.

It's great. You can unlock more weapons and other attachments as you progress in skill through multiplayer and you can create your own custom classes with their own unique weapon combos and other abilities. I like using the light machine gun because it can shoot through walls. This stuff is already common knowledge, but I wanted to state that these features are in the MP beta. It's very customizable.
