Due to time constraints and other upcoming games, only want to get one of these. Which would you choose?

I never played the original Borderlands but just watched some IGN live commentary footage and didn't find it amazing (maybe the player was just way too powerful for what they were showing which made it very boring) but so many people are excited for the game. Dishonored looks somewhat different but with any new IP, it's a crapshoot.

I would go for Dishonored. Borderlands is only fun if playing in a co-op. Otherwise it is a boring, grinding game. My opnion though.

If that's the case, then I'm definitely leaning Dishonored. I work long/odd hours so usually play late at night, so co-op with friends is normally not an option.

Yep - the first Borderlands was an AWESOME game, as long as you had a handful of people you could join online and go through it with. If that's going to be tough for you, go with Dishonored.

I'd go for Dishonored. Dont get me wrong, Borderlands 2 looks like a decent game but I never beat Borderlands. Not because its a bad game, because it's honestly a very good game. I just didnt beat it because I couldnt stay focused on Borderlands. I would get to the same area in different playthroughs and completely loose interest in it.

Dishonored... I didn't like Borderlands. If you plan to play with buddies (co-op), go with Borderlands 2.

I think you get more bang for your buck with Borderlands.... At most I see 2 playthroughs on Dishonored: one of going in guns blazing, and one all stealth. With 4 characters to choose from, different loot, and a large online multiplayer community, I'd go with Borderlands. I think Dishonored has GOTY potential, but if I was only getting one game, I'd get Borderlands because you're gonna get more out of it.

However, I'm sorry you have to choose, because I'll be getting them both.

I played through the first Borderlands solo and I loved the game! My second play through I played with others and while it was fun, I actually preferred playing solo as you pay attention to the story and whats going on. Multi is focused only on the action.

Dishonered, I'm not a fan of the Borderlands series. Plus, give the new franchise the sales it needs!

Honestly if you haven't played the first Borderlands then don't even bother with the second.

It's fantastic, don't get me wrong. But the story and jokes transcend the second game, so you won't find it as good.

Buy Dishonored. It looks amazing so far, and plays great. (Played the demo at Fan Expo, think Bioshock mixed with Fallout)

Quick Question: Does Borderlands 2 have a 4 player co-op Horde/survival mode like Horde in gears of War or Firefight in Halo Reach? I never played the first one.

Really tough call. Obviously I can't say anything about Dishonored yet as it hasn't been released, but I've been playing Borderlands 2 the past few days and I must say it is fantastic. Of course, when you're not shooting at things you'll be managing the never ending loot you get (guns, guns, and more guns), so if you're limited on time you may want something more focused - in that case I think Dishonored would probably be the better game for you.

However I definitely recommend picking up both at some point.

Based on sample (Borderlands 2 is out and playable Dishonored isn't) I'd go with Borderlands because it is quite awesome, but I am really looking forward to Dishonored as well.

Don't get Dishonored. It is only 10 hours long (which was admitted by the developers), and the game will most likely bomb, leading to a price cut by the end of the year.

It depends. If you are looking for most "bang for the buck" I'd say Borderlands 2. However if you never played the first, then I might recommend Dishonored. You don't need to play the first Borderlands to enjoy BL2, but it helps in regards to stroy and characters.

Don't listen to this. I'm more than halfway through the main story, which doesn't carry over from the first game, and besides a few very very minor references to the previous game, you don't need to have played the first game at all to get anymore enjoyment out of the second.

Never mind i got borderlands 2 instead. Borderlands is going to be better now than it will be later, but if dishonored is good it will be good forever because its singleplayer

Borderlands 2 is fantastic and has improved just about everything in the first game. It's more of a co-op game though. I'm still uncertain about Dishonored but if you are more into single player games it might be better for you. Both will drop in price around November though.

Boring? Grinding? Your wrong. I have never sat there and just fought monsters until i would level up. The side quests are enjoyable and keep your level increasing. Also playing alone is great but there is match making to always have a co op partner ready for you. I highly recommend this game.

I'd recommend Borderlands. Even if you didn't seem the footage to be interesting, you absolutely HAVE to play it and experience it yourself. Just make sure you have friends online to play with.

Dishonored looks really cool, but as far as i'm concerned I really have to stick with BL. BL should have more value too, taking in the effect of online co op.
