I'm not a big Ninja Gaiden fan, but I'm pretty astonished to hear that Itagaki quit Tecmo and that there won't be any more Ninja Gaiden games. It's a smaller version of what I felt like when I heard Steve Irwin died; it just blew me away and astonished me. There also won't be any more Dead or Alives. What are your thoughts on this?
There won't necessarily not be any more dead or alives, Itagaki just won't be working on them. I'm not too disturbed by this; Itagaki already said that this was his last Ninja Gaiden anyways. Whatever he chooses to work on next it'll probably still be kickass.
He is a very eccentric and brilliant man. His future, as well as any future game titles that he has a hand in developing will more than likely prove to be promising indeed.

er... not really. Itagaki said he wont be doing more Ninja Gaiden games, but we can be sure there will be more NG games and DOAs.
I don't mind that there won't be any more. I love Ninja Gaiden but NG 2 is just now coming out so there is still some fun to be had. But Itagaki said that he want's to work on some new game ideas. I'm all for that. Better to leave NG before it gets stale.
I know that Itagaki won't be making anymore NG's or DOA's(himself), but I think he will make other fighting games or Action Adventure games that are really good as well. Hopefully he will get the money he wants from Tecmo and build an independent game company. Besides, like you guys said, Tecmo won't stop here with either series.
