Ninja gaiden 2 to be last in series *EDITED with more news*

In an interview with Kotaku earlier today Team Ninja's Tomonobu Itagaki said that he doesn't plan on making any more Ninja Gaiden games for any platforms following the release of Ninja Gaiden II for the Xbox 360.

"Personally I think we were able to create the definitive 3D game in this series so I'm not planing on making any other games in the series, so I hope fans treat this as a swan song for the franchise."

they own the exclusive rights, because its published by MS thats all

I wouldn't want it against their will. If you makes games for fun you're more creative and happier to work hard. If you're being forced to do something you don't wish to then i doubt they'd do as great of a job. Could be wrong though just seems like they'd pour their heart and soul into something they wanna do rather than something they have to do.

devs shouldnt be forced to make sequels. that'll take the soul out of them. and it would give them a bad name

Its a good idea, especially if this new Ninja Gaiden 2 is perfect... then of course he would want to start work on something else.

I cant wait for NInja Gaiden 2 though.. since its the last one in the series i expect him to do a great job on it!

Yeah I liked how you just could decide to fight pretty much every boss in the game any given moment instead of having to have to play trough the story again just to meet that particular foe.

plus LOADS of replay value. took me atleast 100 hours to complete the final mission on hard lol
