There's really no way to know this early. But knowing Microsoft, if it did fail somehow , it would be mysteriously right after the warranty has expired. I'm hoping that they would have learned from their mistake by now though.

there is no way in the world they would have released this thing if it had even a slight chance for RRoD. that would really kill their image. im sure they have tested this thing again and again. the whole RRoD is why they probably came out with this new xbox in the first place. this one only has a 1 year warranty, and the old ones a 3 year warranty. they are going to be saving a ton of money by reducing the time for warranties and repairs. always with electronics theres gonna be some that break or fail, but this one is probably a pretty safe purchase

Yea I agree, and hope will Mircosoft fix these problems

1)RROD

2)Scratched Disks

3)E74 error (An E74 error is indicated when the lower-right quadrant of the ring indicator flashes red and displays an error message in multiple languages: "E74 System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support". The error is caused when there's a video problem, because the Xbox 360's hardware scaler chip is damaged.

4) Open Tray error

I think half the reason Microsoft released the re-designed Xbox 360 is to break away from the bad image of the old one, so... I hope there won't be as much RRoD.
