My 360 takes about 2 second to shut down after i press the off button...why?

Hi guys

before when i used to turn of my console it would turn off instantly ...now theres like a 2 second wait after i press the off button

anybody know why?

Its like a computer, If you are in a middle of a game its going to take a little longer than if you were at the dashboard. There is nothing wronge.Pete5506

MAYBE you have the low power download feature and it might check tos ee if there's a queue?

It started happening after an update. The 360 slowly fades then turns off, same goes for starting a game up, the screen fades a bit then turns black and once done loading the game (about 2-5 seconds) the menu or w/e of the game appears. It's normalAerosmith_Lova

Same thing happens to me..

Do the "reset HD cache" procedure as described in Microsoft Xbox support site. It fixes most of the slowdowns issues. Onedide effect though, every game update/patch is also deleted, but it's no big deal...

It's already been answered in the thread; the latest update added a "Fade Out" sequence which, obviously, takes longer to shut down the console now. Why is everyone panicing? Aaron89

Because they need to find a reason to say that their xbox isnt working. Thats my three cents :o
