Glad SFIV re-paved the way for traditional competitive fighter games. I'm hoping they follow the lead and make a quality arcade worthy game this time instead of some half arsed single player campaign-styled game and just stick to the style of the original 3 with updated graphics/more moves etc. Too bad I sold my 360, but whatever
I last liked MK games back when they were still good and fresh on like the genesis I think. This gen it just hasn't been done right yet..but you can only do so much with a fighting game.
If MK does a design change in such a way like SF did with SF4, not the same but something as drastic and unique, then im all for it. Always loved the MK series more but they need a change. The 3d elements they have been using last few years is outdated.

Simply adding gore back to it wont make it return to form, there was gore in all the previous games before MK vs DC and they weren't that great. It needs to return to its roots in regards to gameplay before they concern themselves with aesthetics. A move back to 2D would be a good start.
Well Midway really doesn't exist anymore,so I doubt there will be any more MK games unless some company buys the rights for the franchise.AtomicBaconBits
Some company did and it bought Midway as well. That company being Warner Bros and Boon said a few months back after they were purchased, that they were working on the next MK game.
the only way I would be interested in a new MK game is if they do away with the cartoonish clunky character models and try to make the game look visually photorealistic with character models/settings while maintaining the arcade gameplay and gratuitous violence that we all love.
Hmm...they should make a full game based of the Konquest mode, i personally enjoyed Konquest mode from mortal kombat deception...despite that it was, go there, complete a set of move, go there, repeat. I'm sure they could come up with something great. Also maybe less characters would help. Armageddon had an impressive roster but that also cut the characters from uniqueness, best example is the create-a-fatality thing which i disliked by the way.
