Be careful sending your 360 to the repair center. A friend recently got one back and it says 16.5 amps on the back! If I'm correct that's a a xenon chipset. send in a falcon and get a fricken xenon back? Bull! To beat that the manufacturing date says 12-21-2008. Why are they sending out refurb xenons??

There's nothing you can do about it - you send your console in, and get back whatever they send you. For a lot of people they will be getting back something better than what they sent in, its just the unlucky few that have had recent models break on them. I sent my 360 in for repairs, got a different one back manufactured Jan 2009, but it doesn't have HDMI (neither did my old unit) They are pretending the xenon is new - they are replacing a broken console, not selling it in stores as new.

They give you back refurbished consoles sometimes, but they never said that the rerubished ones would be a newer model. My only concern would be the power differences, and how they would handle that.

Your friend is lying... if you send in a newer chipset with HDMI enable... they will send you an HDMI enabled console back... it may not be the same batch or even the same chipset... but they will send you a console with HDMI... so your friend is lying if he is saying that he sent in a falcon and got back a Xenon...

o well, it isn't actually new as microsoft just gives u refurbished one. refurbished ones are usually broken xboxes they get and send in it. it would be faster for microsoft to just give a refurbished one when they get the broken one from someone.
