Lost Odyssey - Worth buying?

Thinking about getting this today. Although ive heard so many mixed reviews.

Thoughts on the game? Is it too long, and does it get tedious/boring?

My friend recently got it, he was a final fantasy nut just like me back in the day and he thoroughly loves it. He plowed through it in less than a week, but hes an addict. :P

for me, RPGs with little replay value like LO deserve a rent.
