What resolution is your tv? It all depends on your tv.

He said monitor not tv and 1080i is without getting too technical very much 720p and though i dunno about using the term huge but it's definately worth upgrading to and the vga cables aren't expensive if memory serves so you'll enjoy the difference as long as your monitor is in a comfortable enough position for gaming

To tell you the truth i wouldnt play on either. since ur monitor or tv goes from 480p to 1080i, im guessing it also does 720p? if so i would use that because ull notice a big difference from 480 to 720. but with 1080i and 720p there really isnt a huge difference.

You should always run your tv/monitor on it's native resolution. And if he isn't using component cables he isn't getting progressive scan in the first place.

Yes the difference will be quite large. I used a monitor for a bit and loved it, I ended up buying a TV though just for a larger screen. I'd suggest you go with the Microsoft VGA cable, I'm pretty sure it's 40 dollars (maybe 50)

Yes, but if you have 720p support, use that instead.

For me it is more noticeable downgrading. It was hard to see the change from 480p to 720p until I went back down. It was the same with blurays and Ghost Recon 2 to GRAW. So what I am saying is that yes there is a huge difference, but if you brain is like mine it won't even realize there was a change until you go back.

And yes I know you are talking about 1080i considering its similarties to 720p I could use either (unless we were talking about how they refresh).

Most Xbox 360 games run in 720p so It wouldn't matter if your running it at 1080i. But VGA looks pretty good. The smaller pixels on a nice computer monitor will make it look better than a TV. Once in a while I like to play on my 17inch monitor compared to my 40 inch LCD tv. But the official Xbox 360 VGA cables are pretty nice so try to buy those instead of 3rd party if you do plan on buying VGA cables.
