Is it too late to buy an Xbox 360??

I'm thinking about getting an xbox 360 pretty soon, but the only thing that's stopping me right now, is when will Microsoft's new console come out? I don't want to buy one now if Microsoft will release a new one next year. Should I get the Xbox 360 250G right now?

Yes! I heard somewere that microsoft is keeping the xbox 360 alive till 2015. I cant remember were though.

Considering Kinect just launched and an updated console just dropped, I think it's safe to say MS isn't planning anything for at least the next 2 years... I say hand over the cash for a 360 now. I can't imagine another Xbox coming out anytime soon.

According to MS's statements the launch of Kinect marks the midpoint of the Xbox 360's life. So if we are to believe MS at this point then you should be good until 2015 or so. Maybe sooner, maybe later, I mean there's nothing definite. But that's what they've been saying. They are essentially treating Kinect as its own console launch.

Everything that I've read on any gaming console seems to point towards 2015 being the approximate year to expect the next generation of gaming consoles. In my honest opinion I think you'll get a minimum of 2 years of play time out of your 360 before seeing anything new.

You've got at LEAST 2-3 years before we see a new console. We'll likely see a few new versions of 360's in the meantime. But yeah, probably won't see the "next gen" til 2014-2015.

You are still safe to buy it, but like how the original xbox was discontinued back in 2006(darn you microsoft!) I think now would be a time to get it, I'm not sure if I should believe this 2015 rumor about xbox 360 lasting, thats prolly when it'll get discontinued. Theres probably gonna be a new console called the xbox 720 in a few years. You only have 4 years left because also if your planning to buy an original xbox also(not an answer but im just saying) then you're not gonna find it at ANY retailer just on ebay and plus, get the xbox 360's now while they are still in stock.

I'd have to say that it's definitely not too late to get a 360. There are a tons of awesome games already out and coming out. Get it for sure!

i say its too late, they will most likely announce a new console this year, and it will release next year.

that whole thing about keeping it alive untill 2015 will be like the ps2 being around for 10 years where the last 4 years were just annual releases of madden and other sports games.

I just got a 360 slim for x-mas and am loving it. Playing Gears of War 2 currently and am amazed by the graphics and gameplayjlaing2607

and to think that game came out in 2008 (im also playing that)! and a year or 2 back they said 2013, 2012 but now there saying 2015,2014.Got atleast another 2-4 years left.

Microsoft launched Kinect so the console would last another 5 years so go ahead. :P

Don't bother MS has giving up on getting the 360 exclusive titles. There is not 1 exclusive game for the 1st and 2nd quarter of 2011 and then all we have is Gears and Forza. MS really reallysuck
