flat tube is exactly what it sounds like. flat screen but bulky back like a regular Tv. i have a 27" samsung in my room, i believe it was the slimfit , but not 100%.  the picture is great, but its kinda a pain to move. i thought id be getting a flat Tv but i still enjoy it.

Hmm, I think LCD provides better image but I'm not sure. It comes down to what input your using, VGA or component.

I looked up the specs of the CRT TV, it weighs, oh jesus, 117 lbs ! the LCD weighs 23lbs!  LOL

If you want temporary cheap solution, a plasma is really nice too. It has life spam about 10 years which I think it is good enough for the price. And when you get LCD, get a real LCD, not LCD projection which is just a projection TV in reality.magicalclick
we just bought a 42" samsung plasma and its life span is 27 yrs at 6 hours a day. so dont generalize like that

If you are concerned only about image quality, get the CRT. It is much better at Standard Def, and noticeably better at High Def. And you dont need to worry about things like refresh rates.

in term of picture quality yes, but CRT is like 100 lbs, and LCD is the size of a thin dvd player....but really unless u r anal about lil' bit more detail, CRT is dead and LCD is the new thing
