I'm thinking of a 360, arcade or pro

The title says it all, but as all of the people who'll read this own a 360, I'd figure I'd ask a specific questions you guys could answer. Is the arcade (256 MB internal memory) version all right or d'you need more memory (20 or 120 GB) to save files? I mean, what can take up to 20 GB of space? I own a Wii and it has 512 MB, which is enough for quite a bunch of game save files. Thank you.

The Arcade is fine if you don't plan on downloading anything.

If you plan on downloading anything (demos, expansions, arcade games, etc.) then don't even look at the Arcade.

I'd never buy the Arcade, but that's just me. The Elite has way too much space. The Pro is the best choice.

I think that the 256 MB internal memory is the RAM, not save space

Arcade:
- no harddrive = no downloads
- have to use memory card for game saves
- no xbox live
- no original xbox games
...etc.

Just get Pro -- it'll cover you forever, whereas if you get an arcade and later want live... tough luck.

If I were you i'd get whatever you can afford. If you don't have the money for a pro or elite, but really want a 360 then go with the arcade. However if you want a 360 with the best experience possible and have plenty of cash then go with the pro or an elite.

by the way I have the arcade with no harddrive and i'm able to get on xbox live :| I plan to get a harddrive as soon as I can find one at a low price :)

I forgot to mention I use an ethernet cord (sold separately with arcade) for xbox live

Who ever said you can't get on Live without a harddrive is lying or just mis-informed.

It depends on a) do you want to download demos? and b) do you want to buy arcade games? and c) do you want to play old Xbox original games? If the answer to all of those questions is no, then you absolutely do not need the hard drive.

1 year ago I had a pro and sold it, and last friday I bought an Elite...I can tell you that I love the elite and looks cooler, but a pro is still a great choice if u dont have the money. I would never go with the arcadeOcTAByo

Never bothered me and didn't even take that long to get out of it. Anyway go pro i made the mistake of getting an arcade.

Well, it is lopsided to say the least.

I'm still at the "thinking" stage of my "potential purchase" process, but if I ever buy a 360 it'll be a pro, without a doubt.

Why do i keep seeing this? Yes you can. I have a friend that uses a memory card and plays live just fine.

you can play online and download content as long its under 200 MB
