I'm really confused (can't sign into XBL).

I ws JUST playing COD4 a second ago on XBL and then turned off my xbox. I leave, come back, and turn it on and it lets me sign into my profile but says "cannot sign in"....My internet is fine. Any ideas?

just happened to me as well while I was in the middle of a game in cod5 zombies....... booted out of the blue

Yep, I get , "A problem occured while signing in" I tested my connection and its fine, itcan connect to my router and the internet, but not XBL.

Yep, was about to play Team Fortress 2 with my friend.

Then again I do have bad luck when it comes to this stuff, whenever MS doesn't their maintence for "24 hours" I can't connect for an entire week.

you know they'll try to spin it as a planned event. hell it could have easily been beta testing the new xbox live crap set to come out later this month screwing with the normal accounts and sign ins....... i blame barry manilow for this regardless

well he was going to mass email everyone using his blackberry but he left it at the copa cabana.....

Yeah I was playing Gears of War 2 and people wer quiting (or what I thought was quiting but was probably the same problem I had) left and right and then I got signed out and can't sign back in. I have no idea what is going on.

yeah my connection works fine but for whatever reason it says the servors are down which is crap. i don't pay them for online and not be able to play it

What makes you think it's BS? It wouldn't make much sense for them to sit there and dawdle while thousands of angry people are at their doorstep for their service not working. If it really is unexpected downtime, there could be hundreds - possibly thousands - of things that are wrong. Give them time, be patient, it'll be back up. It might take them awhile, but it's better than it not coming back at all, right?

i went to the status page and xbox live is red and all the other service's are running

Wierldy... I was disconnected while playing Halo 3(Lone Wolves) and never got booted. The game kept on going and it was weird!! No Lag at all. The game played out perfect except the fact that I wasn't online... Never happened to me in my life. Now I can't sign in at all :( (I got second by the way lol)
