How are you planning that?

Just block the fan vent and block the intake holes if you want it to ring.

you would probably still have to pay to get an elite right? so whats the point... a working console is worth more... sell it and then get an elite.

i bought my 360 for 400 on release day

it got the ring, i got a new one, that one got the ring, so i took it back and they gave me the halo 3 version because it was worth 400 at the time. now the elite is worth 400 so i assume that if i get the ring again, i'll get it because it's worth the same price.

I tried blocking the intake, it over heats and stops. I wanted MS to fix my 360 (it wont read disks sometimes), but I am out of the warranty. But I still have the red ring warranty. I will be sending it to walmart because I have it under their warranty...so I'm all good

Do NOT assume anything. You're going to screw yourself over. And for what, greed? Regardless of what you paid vs. what something is worth now, they are only entitled to give you back what had before the loss. It's like insurance. The idea of insurance isn't that you GAIN anything from your loss, only that you are put back in the same position you were had the loss never occurred in the first place. That would mean giving you back a regular Xbox. All you'll do is waste your time or possibly worse if you try this.

Be happy with what you have man.
