It doesn't make any sense because i just turned 17 so my account should let me download M content, and for some reason it restricts it. Is their a way i can change the settings to allow me to download whatever i want?

I have the same problem. I got my xbox/live when I was 16 and had to make the whole parental account thing and now i'm 19 and still can't find away around it without changing credit cards.Soldier2020
Wait so if you change CC you can changel your account type? Or do you have to buy live all over again.
I guess I'll have the same problem: I turn 17 in a few months and just bought my Elite today. Is there a way to set it up with no parental restrictions, regardless of age?

Once you're 18 years old, the Promote Child Account option will appear under Account Management. You can then promote your account to an adult account, which will remove the content restrictions, but if your parents have a credit card associated with your account, you will need to replace it with your own credit card. I believe that is what Soldier2020 is referring to.Please Log In to post.
