Doesn't matter, Though people will always debate over it. I personally change it back and forth every once in a while. So i guess both. Right now it's Vertical.

Basically what I read was.. it's more possible to have your discs scratched that way, but hey that's what I read at least.

And possibly airflow isn't as good?

Yea, There was a test that said having it horizontal was better for the disc. Though there's been tests saying that having it horizontal also creates more heat because the gpu and cpu are right against the table, The table getting hot adds even more heat to the 360.

So it's like saying, Get the RROD horizontally or get a dead DVD drive vertically. That's why i say it doesn't matter, If your 360 is going to die in any sort of way then it's just going to die. Nothing you can do. It works fine both ways when it does work.

Hm, nice. I'm definitely not going with these fans I saw at gamestop, even the guy there told me it wouldn't really be worth it. And They're a danger to use to your 360. Your idea is much better. More or less, the scratching disc risk bothers me.

Edit: well after seeing ^ your post, you've got me thinking again if I should use vertical or not.

very true, it heats because it is close to the table....elevate it on 2 bricks of foam....

if you live in a hot country like me, elevate it with foam them put a powerful mini-fan infront...

i'm not sure in cold countries, maybe there's no need for electricfans... just keep it from having no ventilation below

Either way is acceptable. Just NEVER move the unit when the power is on and you here the disk spinning.

you wont need to worry about overheating because if you get an xbox at christmas they all have new motherboards and heatsinks and new cpus . horizontal is the way to go i think, if your not compinsating for any.. difficult-to-stimulate manly tissue.

I put mine horizontal as it stutters a little bit if I keep it vertical.

Horizontal. I don't believe it's better than doing vertical (it doesn't matter), but it's easier for me to insert the game discs when it's horizontal.

Vertical, less space trapped = more ventilation IMO. AND because of space issues :D

Well thank you all! Appreciated x 99999

I asked my friends at school, and just like all of you, some play vertical, others horizontal. I think I'm going to be using vertical, and have plenty of air flowing around.. and be sure not to bump it.
