Has anyone played 360 with laptop's screen instead of HDTV?

^^ Topic ^^

I wonder about this for a long time. I can't buy a TV so I have to stick with my laptop. But I want to play console games. I want to know it'd work or not.

It should not be possible because the only connection on a laptop with regards the screen is an output not an input, unless you laptop is special. Your best bet would be to get a PC monitor and the Xbox 360 VGA cable (if you don't already own one). The PC Monitor is a good step up from the normal TV. I could see a much sharper picture when I hooked up my 360 to a PC monitor. I can only imagine how good the 360 would look like on an HDTV.

You would need a tv tuner that has input components even so the delay might make it hard to play because your video card is going to have to process everything probably not the best way to do it

Thank you! I guess I'll have to buy a HDTV to play it. Wait! Normal TV is fine right?

Just buy a cheap computer monitor. A normal TV works fine, thats what I play on. HDTV would be nice tho!

I play my 360 on a standard 21" TV and it looks great. I would prefer a HDTV obviously but can't afford one.

My buddy has a 22" widescreen PC moniter he plays his games on and it looks great. It was around $300 too. Alot cheaper than an HDTV. Obviously a nice HDTV would be the way to go if you can. But a good, cheap, moniter looks fantasic also.

22" wide screen lcd's are so cheap now days and the diffrence between 1360x768 and 1980x1080p specially with consoles is very little its not like 1980x1050 with a PC so if you want some HD its a very good way to go, remember some people are still playing on there 14" 21" tube, and btw if you live in states or europe you could get a 22inch for as low as 129.95US if you know where to look ;).

Thank you very much! :) I don't have to think time after time to buy HDTV anymore. I better buy a LCD PC monitor. :) Actually, the reason I was reluctant is that my dad won't approve me buying TV because he doesn't want to fix his cable. But I can buy a PC monitor without concerning it.
