So I got reach today in the mail and started to play, everything was fine until the first cut scene was playing and my screen went green. Then I restarted my Xbox and the screen was black with weird lines through it. Then I restarted again and I had the Red Ring of Death; how the heck did this happen. worse day ever, thanks Halo Reach for killing my xbox that is passed its warranty.

the game didn't kill your xbox. It just wasn't a good day for your xbox, it would have broke either way.

Games don't kill xbox's and they have been known to suddenly Red Ring on people. I'm currently on my 4th xbox, and yes it died every time whilst playing a game but that doesn't mean its the games fault.

Your Xbox 360 died because it was going to die not because of the game. Plenty of people were playing games when their Xbox 360 died it doesn't mean that it is the games fault.

I know gears of war killed my first xbox because I played the crap out of it.

I know when I got GTA 4 I played it allot and it rrod.

when I got madden 10 I played alot of it and it died.

if you play a game 12hrs in a row your xbox may die.

Well if nobody saw this coming. Some user with two posts claims that a newly released and incredibly high profile game broke his xbox. Lol......lol

Same exact thing happened to me not too long ago whilst playing Gears of War 2.

Screen went green, so I restarted the Xbox, at which point I got the red rings.

It wasn't Reach that broke the Xbox. Today was just your lucky day. They all red ring eventually.

ya except after i restarted it the first time the game showed a weird halo screen that was really dark and fuzzy and wouldn't let me do anything, i'm just saying it's possible, you don't have to disagree with me because you don't even know "exactly" what causes the red ring of death.

Halo didn't kill your xbox! If your xbox 360 failed, it's because it was going to happen sooner or later. Games can't kill your 360.

It wasn't Reach that killed your Xbox, it was Chuck Norris, he hid away on the disc and slaughtered it from the inside. You didn't see him because he roundhouse kicked you so hard you can't remember or feel it.

Sorry, couldn't resist.:D

The Red Ring is caused by a hardware failure.

I'm not sure about that, my 360 would always sound very bad whenever I played Need for Speed (forgot which one). Then I installed it and it sounded fine after that.

The exact same thing happened to me today. During the first cutscene my screen started getting that greenish tint and all that.Same as OP. I restart my Box and now there's only a black screen. No RROD tough. I can hear the dashboard sounds and everything. Just can't see anything. That's one hell of a coincidence. *Put on tinfoil hat* There is a plot to kill old boxes and make us buy those shinny new ones.
