great, now the govt. wants to get involved in the kinect conspiracy.

First with the DRM , now the government wants to announce a bill basically against the kinect? REALLY ? what, they don't want competition? And as far as that goes kinect isn't the only thing using this technology Samsung has a phone that pauses video when you look away and mutes when you 'shush" the phone. TV's are starting to use the hand gesture thing, how do you think it recieves the signal? Whether people like it or not this technology is coming. Not just in gaming but everything.

It's true, but hopefully Samsung and Microsoft won't be using their technology to spy :/ These innovations do make our lives more convenient, but at what cost? 

The problem is MS is making it "Mandatory". Why would they need to make a camera mandatory? Stupid idea among the other stupid things MS has had with XDumb One.
