I think they will announce it for the 360 next year at E3 and it'll come out Nov. 2010.

This is what they said:

UPDATE: Epic's Michael Capps has since clarified his comments, and was less certain whether the next Gears of War would be for the current generation or not. "If we ship a game in the next few years, it'll be Unreal Engine 3," he said, "If we ship a game on next [generation] consoles, it will likely be Unreal Engine 4."

I would seriously doubt that it'll be 5 years, or even next gen. Gears of war is a massive franchise now so from a buisness point of view it'd be stupid to leave the next installment for so long. So I garuntee 4th quarter 2010 at the earliest, early 2011 at the latest

I'm leaning more towards 2010. The pattern will continue 2006 (Gears 1), 2008 (Gears 2), 2010 (Gears 3).

it's probably true. but idk. if it's being rumored this early i'm suspecting that it will be a launch title for the new xbox. if there is one of those

I think that's a pretty safe bet, hardly sticking your neck out to say that a popular series will see another game in the next 5 years.

I think Microsoft announces a new console in the next year so they can rush another console out.

Epic has enough trouble making a MP work on a console they're had time to work with and understand. I wouldn't want to see what would happen if Gears 3 was a launch title on the next MS console. Could be wrong though, impossible to tell.

i would LOVE for gears of war 3 to come out on 360 which i have a strong feeling that it will, as many have already stated should be 2-3 years. but this thread also has me thinking that a gears of war title as a launch title for the next xbox would be huge :shock:

So you'd rather have a watered down Gears of War 3 running on dated 2005 hardware instead of being patient and waiting for a Gears of War 3 as a launch title for the Xbox 720 running on superior hardware using Unreal Engine 4?

Personally I'd rather be blown away and have an amazing launch title like Gears of War 3 to showcase the power of Microsofts next console.

I want to get Gears of War 3 as well. There's been a rumour that they are to introduce a woman named Alex from one of the Gears of War graphic novels.

i hope so. it also makes sense becauseaccording to sth i read on gamespotunreal tech made an announcement that it is gonna be the engine of natal!

I don't pay much attention to rumors, 99% of the time they are not true or the truth skewed badly. Anyway, I don't mind waiting till E3. Plus there are plenty of excellent games out and on the way to tie me up for a long while.
