I recently noticed that in the video market place section of the xbox dashboard, pretty much every video is a free download, even movies that just came out recently. I look at it and in the price area it says free rather than listing an amount of points in cost. Every video I've looked at is like this. And like I said, some movies that are recent are there for free, ones that commercials play for about how you can buy it now in stores, etc.

Is there some sort of a catch to this? I didn't want to download anything in fear that it would come back with a huge bill, or tell me I have to suscribe to something, etc. Can anyone that knows more explain this to me?

Pretty much all of them. The only things I've seen with a price so far is a fan thing called red vs blue.

So I tried it. I went to video marketplace, selected a movie that was there (land of the lost), and it took me to zune video player and it had a price listed, which was not free. IDK what you mean.

What it probably is is that you haven't downloaded the Zune program software on your Xbox. THAT is what you are actually seeing that is free, and it is needed to browse movies or download them. Once you download the Zune stuff, you will see prices for movies.

Yeah dude pay attention to what you're downloading next time. The title clearly indicates that you're getting the Zune software downloaded (which is FREE). Once you get Zune marketplace, you can go into it and purchase movies (which are NOT free). Some of the TV shows are though, but it's hard to tell which ones and they aren't good shows. Try reading next time, it'll do wonders.
