I really enjoyed games such as the GTA series and Assassins creed. Is there any other free roam games like that(games where you can go anywhere and just wonder around)? The only other game I know of is Crackdown, which gets mixed reviews.
Crackdown is a ton of fun, and a blast to just roam around and explore. If you're looking for lots of mission variety its no so good though. Its pretty much the following: run around and find where gang bosses are located, kill gang boss, and repeat. Toss in some road races, foot races, agility orb searching and hidden orb searching; thats about it.
But its a blast to play and explore. Its probably my favourite 360 game, better than Halo3, Gears of War or Orange Box. I also didn't care for the GTA series. Its the jumping and over the top fantasy of Crackdown that makes it work for me.
I also enjoy free roaming games. Spiderman 3 is decent (full of glitches but decent), Saints Row is solid, as well. Crackdown will take you one sit down to beat with little replay value. Oblivion is one of the greatest games as far as free roaming goes.
Saints Row is rubbish. Although its not "cool" Crackdown is a great game. Its tons of fun and, despite what people say, there is loads to do and just jumping around the city throwing cars at people etc will keep you entertained long after youve done the story
