Favorite Game of all time

What is your favorite game of all time on any platform and in any generation and why? Mine is either Halo Combat Evolved for XBOX, Soul Calibur for DREAMCAST,Gears of War XBOX 360, or Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 for XBOX.

Star wars Knights of the old republic, even though I dont like any of the star wars movies I thought the game was really epic, also recently The Orange Box.

Not sure really, there's so many to choose from.

On the 360 so far I'd have to say Gears. I don't think I've ever played another game as often or have gotten as much enjoyment as that one.

For me, it was definetly Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The epic boss battles (The End), great cinematics and cool story made it the greatest game ever IMO. Half Life2 was also real good.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for me, it changed the way I look at free-roaming games and I have never had a game that has kept me entertained as long as it did. I still go back and play it once in a while too, to me it was the complete packageScarface_tm431

GOD OF WAR 1 @ 2 FOR THE PS2 AND SOCOM 2 PS2 THERE THEY ARE

THE BEST OF THE BEST EACH GAME WAS A DIFFERENT TYPE AND HAD

THE OWN STRENGTH'S HOPEFULLY THE WILL MAKE GOOD SEQUEL'S:D

I know I am dating myself, but my favorite game was the first Homeworld game for the PC. Its the first RTS that had any real Strategy in it. And sadly no RTS since has had any real strategy in it. Just research the same tech trees all over and over and over again.Rokudan96

Dating yourself? How about B17 Bomber for the Intellavision (sp?)? Complete with a real voice intro!

This is tough. Of all time I would have to say Final Fantasy 7(PS1). Truely a great story. And before that I loved Chrono Trigger(SNES). In fact I just recently started playing that one again. Classic game with a great story.

Yeah no kidding. There are very few games out there that are able to tell a great story. Nowadays it's tough to do something that hasn't been done before. I grew up with the old Nintendo and so forth, but my lord, this game made me actually care about the game and it's characters. Damn, I need to finish up Chrono Trigger and start playing FF7 again, followed by actually finishing up FF9.
