Does you xbox ever just freeze on you?

My xbox unfortunately just freezes randomly now on gears2 and gtaIV...i really don't know what im gonna do...im very sad now...i just bought this thing back in octber 2008 and i barely played it....why is it doing this? anyone know? it doesn't give red lights or ANYTHING..it jus freezes......

does it freeze all the time? i have certain games that do and all my games are in pristine condition, if you have the hard drive space, install them that took care of the freezing for me.

star wars the force unleashed, fear 2, forza motorsport to name a few used to freeze all the time but once i installed them to the hard drive they work perfectly, although i did lose all my saved data from resident evil last night but that might have been my fault.

I just got the error "The disc is unreadable" I think these may be signs of rrod? My gears 2 has not even a single scratch..same with my gta4

So far, only one game in my Live Arcade library has been giving me some freezing issues. Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting. It happens whenever I exit to the dashboard from the game's main menu.

My GTA IV freezes 10 minutes after starting it up. Its in perfect condition sucks cause im close to beating it and wanted to download the new DLC

It was my experience in the 2 times I had to send mine back because of RRoD it started freezing up a few days before becoming fully useless so it is something to watch out for. Luckily since you just bought it you have years before your warranty expires and overall the wait shouldn't be that long if you do need to send it back. One of the times though I had to wait over 6 weeks but that was a pretty uncommen error on their part.

My xbox froze once in a loading screen when I borrowed Skate off a friend. It was scratched horribly though, so I installed it to the HDD. It's been fine ever since.

Mine used to it was because of resolution settings. The old tv I used at first for my xbox did not like a certain resolution and widescreen.

Just download it to your hard drive. I did that with fable and gta and it worked perfectly

yeh mine does occasionally. i have it downloaded to my HDD too. glad it has a sweet save system

yeah but for me it's actually froze up on me once right after i turned it on.. didn't even put the logo up first. so i cut it off and back on again and no problem after that.. i'm pretty sure i have the jasper chip so who knows what happen

Mines froze on me last night with COD 4 and MK vs DCU upon loading, only time i seen it happen.

wonder if it could be the last update to the xbox?
