Kiinda stupid as the ps3 discs are soooo much closer to the laser it would seem the ps3 should be more at risk, but i guess manufacturer flaws are more present in the xbox.

Yeah, I think the manual for most consoles will tell you not to move the console while the disk is spinning. It's just standard advice. Personally, I rocked my 360 accidentally once with a spinning disk inside, and it made all kinds of uncomfortable noises. Disk still worked fortunately.

Common sense people. DO NOT MOVE YOUR CONSOLE WHILE PLAYING A DISK! Why would anyone want to move it anyway? Move your console to a desired position before playing.

why would you move any object that is currently spinning another?

this baffles me...

and for the record it will destroy the disc and possibly the tray.

Well the Discman was designed to be portable. And I've never heard of laptops with optical drives scratching discs when you move it while a disc is spinning. But obviously, if you know moving the xbox while a disc is spinning is not recommended then it would be stupid to do it.

See now I don't understand this.

1. Isn't it common knowledge to not move a CD/DVD/GAME discs device while playing a disc or it could get scratched?

2. Why do people feel the need to dance with their 360s when playing a game or movie?

3. What possible reason do you have for moving your 360 around when the power is even on whether there is a game or movie in it or not??????

4. Does not compute!

It's like the 4th post in 24 hours he's made that asked a really obvious question or something that you could after 5 seconds on Google. I wish he'd just play the damn system.

Do not move the 360 when a disk is in it whether it is on or off. It will totally ruin the game regardless. Just ask my poor Fable 2 disk.....

that would pretty much apply to any disc-based console. It's mechanically possible with any console or device that can read or operate a disc media, even your CD player. Just that back then, stuff like the Sega CD and playstation 1 didn't really spin the disc very fast either, and had at least some space between the 'ceiling' (a.k.a. disc door), meaning it was more likely that the disc would simply fall off before it would grind against the surfaces and be damaged. It's only become riskier lately, with the tighter confines inside required to spin the disc as quickly as technology demands, thus meaning the thing's more fragile, and it's got less room to 'shake' in.

So far in my 360 owning career, the only disk that cracked was MW2 cuz of the "plastic saving " disk cases. It still works, bit theres pieces that fell off and about to fall of in the middle

Luckily I installed it to the hardrive before it started cracking. I'm guessing that's why it still works

For the most part, since the 360 has you insert a disc, the disc can be dislodged and subject to scratch damage if it's moved while it's spinning.

I'm pretty sure Modern Warfare 2 disc is immune to this. BUT any other games break so just try it on MW2.

Everyone keeps saying "Who moves it while it is on", it isn't just when it's on, but you should NEVER move your Xbox with a game in it.

Yea-They've always said from day 1 of the original 360s that you should remove your discs before moving the console cos of the possibility of the disc getting scratched badly
