I was just wondering if I was to install Mass Effect to my harddrive would it fix or at least lessenthe framerate drops and pop ins that plague an otherwise epic game.

Still doesn't answer my question.

Yes, it fixes most of the problems and speeds up load times by 50%

It fixes the framerate drops and the occasional 'loading' pauses. Pop-up is better, too, but not gone.

I'd definitely agree that it speeds the load times up (very noticeably), but in my experience the frame rate is still absolutely shocking in places and the texture pop in is definitely still present - if there is any improvement, it's minimal (imo).

Yeah, the framerate is still terrible in places, especially in combat. The pop in seems much better though.

I've noticed faster load times, less pop ups and better frame rate. It could just be my imagination, but I'd suggest installing it.

Thank you all. I am now going to install it. I love the game and am on my 5th playthrough and the severe framerate drops during combat are one of the few complaints I have with the game. The texture pop in is also a bit unsightly. Even if the installation cures it only slightly it will still have improved it.

Yeah, the technical issues with FPS and such ruined the game for me

From my experience texture pop in is heavely reduced (if you have played Gears of War then it is around that bad or a little worse.... Orignal GeoW), but i see no improvement in framerate. It may be now that the little load bar is gone and much texture popin being gone i notice it more, but i don't really know.

I would suggest installing it thought because almost 90% of my cutscenes had the textures in there the moment i saw them.
