Mine, strangely, has a problem opening when there is no disc inside. Everytime the drive doesn't have a game or movie in it, it takes me 10+ tries of pressing the eject button before it finally opens up. However, I have not encountered a problem with the disc drive when there is already a disc inside...it's weird. Does anyone know the problem, or have a theory about this?

i have the exact same problem lol, tilt it to the left and the drive should open
mine has the exact same problem...wondering if the warranty will cover repair of this...i might call xbox cause i hope they will fix it by just giving me a new xbox that hopefully has an hdmi port on it
My old one (the one that red ringed) had that problem, but whneever it did it i'd justp ress the disk tray in, and it would pop out to accept the disk... my current disk drive is eating my discs :shock: I'm sending it back to microsoft in an hour or two...
My 360's drive bay fails to open or close sometimes. I needed to "lift" the tray's edge a bit for it to open up or push the tray a little to close it...

mine did the exact same thing. i'd pres the open disc button then it sounds like it was going to, but didn't but i did have the blue face plate on there instead of the original white one, so i dont know if that made a difference.
