If you only play with random people you don't know online? Meaning, you only play in pick up groups with random people?

I think so. It's not like the campaign has much too it. So it's either play with random people, or play in groups of people you know. The latter is obviously better but random people aren't that forsaken.

Well, it depends if you play with the right people. For me, people generally don't leave me to die. But some do lol. So it's not really that big a deal.

Yes, Its probably cool. But I still wouldnt get any game made in source engine for a console because there is no developer console available. I played the original L4D today with 2 other friends and spawning 50 witches and setting them on fire couldnt be any more fun... or trying to outrun them with a speed boost ^^ Valve's games are awsome, but even more awsome played on PC just because of all the mods and replay value they give. + You dont even have to have a killer rig to run them :} But still if you're looking for a casual experience yeah, its cool!

I'd say the game is good but not $70 good imo. Luckily I bought a brand new copy for $40. Stick with L4D until you have an opportunity to get the 2nd at a lower cost.

You should give it a try. Obivously you will make friends and sometimes get really mad about some kind of people, but whatever, go for it.

Depends.

It possible to enjoy it by playing with random people. I was able to make friends with random people by playing that game, but I prefer playing with actual friends.

Sort of off topic - Personally I prefer playing with most japanese randoms cause for some odd reason I tend to work well as a team with them on versus even though we don't talk to each other compare to people who speak english and have mics.

L4D2 is a rehashed version of the first, like honestly, nothing innovating at all. It honestly could of been one big expansion pack. But if you want an opinion on the multi player random online games suck and its only fun when you're with friends in real life.

Yes, liked L4D (well learned too) but love L4D2. Something about Kurt Cobaine-ing zombies thats satisfying. With a weak team it'll lessen the experiences (dont get it twisted you may be the weak link) but thats true with any/all games. I like the south, i like added difficulty & longer levels, the weapons, and Coach. (Ellis's stories are hilarious) At $60 no, at $40 or less heck yeah...

I liked it but it seems to have a smaller community than the first one.

That's how you win the game. If you're slow, you die. :?

well I just played a few hours of L4D2 online with random groups. I went through the last two parts of Swamp Fever and then all four parts of Dead Center. The first game was decent, tough but decent. The second game, no one was looking out for one another. Two people ran ahead of everyone, but they didn't stick together. By some miracle, I made it all the way through the second game, but still, it wasn't easy. I can't believe people still haven't figured out that this game is all about TEAMWORK! You need to look out for your teammates, make sure you stick together, and move as a unit. You fight together, or you die alone, that simple.

No people just don't care. You get a large bonus if you have more members alive, so why would you just run? Randoms hardly communicate in the game, so buying this game without a good group of friends is something I can't recommend.

The online is meant to be what makes L4D2 - though I was not a huge fan of it since Australia does not have a R18+ system, it was still enjoyable.Ragnarok-64
true but due to the heavy emphasis on team tactics and teamwork, most people prefer to play only with a group of dedicated friends whom they know can be trusted, rather with random people online, who can vary from skilled, but more than willing to leave you behind if you stop for more than a split second to unbelievably stupid and get lost if you make so much as a sharp left turn.
