difference between old and new wireless adapter

My friend told me that you can use the adapter from the original xbox on the 360. Is there any difference between the old adapter and the new one?

I know that the original xbox adapter needs it's own power source but other than that it works fine. I would say the 360 adapter is a waste of time though.

If you have the original one, then don't buy the one for the 360, just use that one
