My boss just told me to go buy Dead Space after he traded in Resident Evil:5 for it. I LOVE RE:5 and would never trade it in, but he said he didn't like it because it steered away from their "Horror Roots" and went more towards Action.... SO I WAS WONDERING, Dead Space? I good game for Horror?

Aside from getting kind of repetitive, Dead Space is an extremely atmospheric awesome horror game.

I dunno, you strapped for cash? Because both are good. But if you like RE 5 than you will prob have a better value with RE:5 because of the replay value. The mercinaries, vs, and ect.

Dead Space is an excellant game, one of the best games of 2008 IMO. I tmay not have a lot of replay value but it's still a great thrill ride!

To be honest, I enjoyed Dead Space over Resident Evil 5 and I am a huge Resident Evil nut. You'll have a blast with Dead Space, especially if you have surround sound.

Very true: Dead Space with surround sound is an orgasm for the ears, and the graphics are nothing to sneeze at.

Of course, if you are a big Resident Evil fan you may get confused at the ability to be able to walk and shoot at the same time. Oh, and Dead Space might actually scare you at some points.

Get this Dead Space> RE5 it made me jump out of my seat a couple of times. It's the new RE, the ammo & health management w/c RE5 didn't have. The story is better too.

Just realize both games are full of weapons, so the "survival" aspect of the game might not be too strong on normal modes. Both are amazing games, though.

... Thanks for all the info; However, I ALREADY own RE:5 I was just asking, because of what my boss said... Does Dead Space fill the Horror void that RE:5 left by going Action?

Well I don't own RE5, but if the full game is anything like the demo with mobs of enemies coming at you... followed by a calm spot... followed by mobs of enemies coming at you... then my answer is yes, Dead Space does feel more like a survival game that would fill the horror void.

I'm only onchapter 2, maybe chapter 3 of Dead Space, and there have already been a handful of spots that had my heart pounding out of my chest. Definitely worth my money to be scared like that from a game.

If you turn off the music it's even more of a horror game.

For me both games are awesome. You probably will find more people going for RE5 because it is newer. But for me, both games are a must-buy.
