As many of you know, Crysis is being ported to the PS3. I'm not entirely sure if this is a rumor or a fact, but for discussion purposes, lets just call it fact. It hasn't been announced for the 360(I'm guessing because of technical limitations). My question is: Can the 360 even handle such a game in terms of technological limits? And will you be disappointed if it doesn't?

No, Crysis can not run on the 360 with out tweaking the game. Things would have to be taking away if it were to be ported.

My computer runs Crysis.

But no console could run Crysis on high settings. Medium/low probably.

PS3 can't run it like it's ran on a PC, but it can at least run it. My question is, can the 360 run it at all?

I think it could run it, but probably not at a high enough quality to be worth playing anyway.

If they nerfed it to an extreme, like no one buys it. But in all seriousness, they would only have to rerun through some gameplay things, and degrade the graphics.

of course the 360 could run crysis, at like 2 fps :P but yeah maybe on low settings with tweaks to special shadowing and aliasing crap than yeah i think 360 could run it.

Both ps3 and 360 can't handle crysis. But they could both most likely run a washed down version of it.

I think that in due time, the PS3 and Xbox 360 would be able to run it. But we have to wait for the developers to understand the consoles and use their power to the maximum. Before that happens, it would looks sloppy and probably not at the highest setting.

no the 360 or PS3 are not strong enough to hand the physics alone

Easy answer: No.

Complicated Answer: Is there a bigger text box available?

Without degrading the quality of the game? No way possible, that's why it's exclusive to only PC. I doubt the PS3 can run out. PS3 is slightly more powerful than the Xbox 360. Slightly, isnt going to bring Crysis to the PS3. Let's just all go buy a Blackbird or Alienware PC. See if that will work.

The 360 can run it - BUT the game will need to go a major overhaul... which I don't think the developers would like to waste time with.

if u want to play it as its meant to, definitely no. And i doubt the PS3 can, either. Crysis is a beast to handle, even for high end computed. I know for a fact that a $5,000 PC CANNOT run it in full setup.

We're talking about a 360 here, not a PSone. Crysis made need a couple of adjustments but of course it can, it's not like Crysis has graphics that look like real life.meconate

agreed. but the question is: would we all like an adjusted version of Crysis?

FEAR was towned down and I liked it.

yeah i am sure a slightly cut down version should run on both consoles just fine.

its going to be interesting to see how games like far cry 2 and operation flashpoint 2 run on consoles cause both games are meant to be huge.

This is the same situation as when Far Cry was being ported to consoles as it FC was then was Crysis is now in terms of graphics and stuff and that was done, quite well actually. It could be done yes, but can it be done to a degree that retains what makes it so good looking? Debatable. Hell my 8800GT chokes on this game at high resolutions, I doubt these consoles could do it justice.

If they did bring it to a console, it should be the PS3 I would think just because of less limitations than the 360. I could care-a-less though. I wouldn't buy it anyway. PS3, overall, would run it alot better in my opinion. I'm probably a bit biased in opinion though too.

no not even on low because of the type of game it is.

I think OFP2 will run off the hdd like a mmo they also said the map editor would be on consoles too.
