I currently own COD4 and think its an amazing game but once youve done perstige atleast once I really dont have a purpose to do it again. So now the game seems a bit boring at times because theres really nothing to do except play. Should I get cod5, I herd it actually rewards you with each perstige rank you gain, or should I stick to modern times, which one pulls this games engine better?

It all depends on which setting you like more: Modern or WWII Era?

Ive prestiged four times now on COD4, i picked up COD5 and didn't really like it. the campaign was ok, but i don't like the multiplayer, the maps are terrible. i've now sold it and still play COD4 regularly

i prestiged once in cod4 before getting bored with it. and no, you do not get anything for prestiging in cod5. each time you rank up you simply get a new rank pic and the flamethrower. but the flamethrower sucks anyway. also, be warned that many people are hosting 3000+ points a kill servers out there so there are a lot of prestige 10 level 65 characters already. BUT, it's still a good game with a great and brutal single player game and a much more crazy almost arcade style multiplayer. to really enjoy it, play the single player on hardened mode then play multiplayer games that have "tactical" in the name. pretty intense.

I think it would be a good idea. Don't get me wrong, I loved Call of Duty 4 to death, but World at War is still a lot of fun, at least in multiplayer. The campaign was pretty lackluster in my opinion.

I'm been thinking of this too.

I still play COD4 and I think this one is way to similar and end up as a waste of money. Maybe I should rent it.

I pre-ordered Cod5 and played it for a week. The campaign is probably the best. Multiplayer is pretty much the same exact thing. So yea, it really depends what you like more, modern or WW2. Personally its Cod4 for me.

Are you kiddin' me? My brother bought WaW (which I thought was a totally stupid idea) and he loved CoD4. He likes WW2 games as well, but he says CoD4 is much better. Also, I watch him play cuhz he plays in my room and it looks like trash, the graphics are just terrible, they can at least make it look nicer than their previous game. He also says the maps suck ass, but he still plays WaW, mostly because his friends play.

COD WaW is an amazing game. It is the EXACT same game, but with new weapons and maps. If you are bored of COD4, you'll love WaW. I prefer COD4 SLIGHTLY better, but by the time WaW came out I couldn't have been more tired of the guns and maps. Think of this as a massive DLC for COD4, with all new weapons and maps. And yes, you do actually have a reason to prestige- more custom class slots, which actually helps once you've unlocked everything. It is the next best thing to COD4, something you will still get a lot of playtime out of. If COD4 is 100/100, COD WaW is 95/1000. Still the two best shooters on the market, you can't go wrong.

I have COD4 and never prestiged once, I just max out all my guns and have a lot of fun. I got a golden shotty, few red tiger assault rifles, and a few red tiger SMGS.
