Yea Im happy thier finally showing the pacific campaign a little respect people need to get off its back if your pissed its going back to WW2 guess what dont get it that simple
I'm getting really tired of people saying "Ugh, not another WWII game, WWII has been done to death!". European front WWII games have been done to death. This is the pacific theater which is quite different from the European theater. Granted the tech is mostly the same but the environments are completely different. And PT WWII games are one of the least done war fronts in gaming. I can only recall one PT game which was MoH: PA but that was MoH so it doesn't really even count. Even Vietnam and the Civil War have been explored more in gaming than the PT.
Anyway, the game looks great from what I've seen. I've got high hopes for this and assuming it lives up to my expectations I probably will buy it soon after launch.
why do they need to come out with so many Cod games? They're making games simultanously, but for what purpose? (other than money) it's not like the stories are continuous or anything...
OK, so their most successful formula to date in COD4 Modern Warfare won so many fans that they're going to scrap it and go back to WW2 for the billionth time? I hate to sound like a broken record, but WW2 has been done to death. One of the reasons why I loved COD4 was because it wasn't more of the same. I don't really care if it's in the Pacific rather than the European Front, it's still more of the same WW2 setting that really has just been done so many times. WW1 doesn't count as making something fresh either. I just wish they would stay with the modern setting but whatever.
Call of Duty deosn't return only the name does. Tryarch will no Doubtably releace a good game that will be fun but it won't be the masterpiece of a game like when Infinity Ward makes CoD.
*sighs* they aren't even from the same deisgners. The good COD makers are doing cod 6, the crappy ones who made cod3 are making cod5. It would be a bad idea if it were the cod4 makers, but the cod3 guys just aren't ready to be controversial yet.

Of course it's for the money, they are a business afterall. I personally can't wait to see this one come out.
If you havent noticed this game is called call of duty: world at war.. NOT CALL OF DUTY 5! because it has no relations to cod4 and treyarch is making this not activision.. its like buying the cheaper grocery store brand product. DO NOT EXPECT THIS TO BE AN UPGRADE FROM COD4! Activison is the real company that knows how to make cod! They just want our money to boost some sales.. hopefully they use this money to make an insane call of duty 6. But dont get your panties all caught up in a bundle over this game.
I'm glad that the Call of Duty series will be returning to WWII. WWII games are simply great. The Pacific Theatre concept will be a good one for the series. Treyarch did a fantastic job with Call of Duty 3 too.
