I'm curious about this too. I have a 1080p monitor with mini HDMI ports and i was wondering if i could buy an HDMI-mini HDMI adapter and have the video/sound come through the monitor. (it has built in speakers)

If you have the required hook-ups, then yes. I sometimes take my 360 over to my girlfriend's house and hook it up to her 1080p monitor with HDMI.

Yes you can, I used to all the time. Unfortunately It wont be at the best resolution, but you tend to get used to it after a week at max, anyway what your looking for is called a "Vga to AV xbox 360 adaptor" they should sell them at most good electrical stores, and more than likely game shops, you can also find them fairly cheap on ebay.

if the monitor has a hdmi port that would be your best option, vga only transmits picture not sound. Hdmi does both

There is a cord that is HDMI-mini to HDMI-regular. I've seen them and they don't cost very much. We sell them where I work. We typically sell them for cameras. Some of the Canon camera's use them but I don't see why you couldn't use this for your application. ;)

Many videocards come included with mini HDMI to HDMI adapters. If you've built a PC recently or know anyone who has they will probably have an adapter

Yes, I have that set up myself. There is a cable you can buy off amazon to do it. That is for VGA connection.

For the 360, you could hook up to a PC monitor using either VGA, HDMI or DVI. Sound is handled a little differently on each but can be used through headphones, external speakers or internal speakers depending on the adapter you use. Radio Shack has pretty much everything you'd need to get it up and running. The best part about PC monitors is that at 22" you start to get 1080p for a very good price.
