k so worst case scenerio happened. a friend of mine modded my 360 a long time ago in order to play burnt game discs (yes im somewhat of a semi pirate, sorry. and ive learned from my mistake as you will read...). LIVE worked fine until halo 3 beta came out, got booted. lame but whatever. this past weekend while whaling on rock band, my cd-drive took a dump and now just spits out disks. i obviously can't send it into microsoft for repairs cuz its modded. im assuming im F'ed and my only option is to buy a new 360...unless someone has a better idea?

See if you can take to a private place to get the drive replaced. If that doesn't work then you have to buy a new one.

sadly my friend that did it moved to san diego so hes not around. he didnt use a chip, just firmware. but is it worth it to get the cd drive replaced, flash the hard drive and whatever else that only god knows microsoft tracked on my console? nm, kinda just answered my own question, i should just get a new one.
