Since I'm addicted to Borderlands again and I read this article from Kotaku...

http://kotaku.com/5488149/the-never+ending-game-world-of-warcrafts-impact-on-borderlands

...it was interesting because Borderlands is still contiuing its success because of the DLC expansions.

At the end of the article the producer of Gearbox doesn't say whether he'll make more expansions but the CEO of THQ says that they will. Also awhile ago, THQ's CEO said that they want to make Borderlands into a franchise which lead us to believe that there will be a Borderlands 2.

So my question and poll is, would you rather have more DLC expansions or would you mind a Borderlands sequel?

I'd rather have more DLC. The game can be endless with more character classes, levels, weapons, missions, areas, etc. I don't want Gearbox to pull a Activision or Valve and make sequel after sequel when all they have to do is support their game with DLC expansions.

It's not an either/or situation

The DLC can be stuff that wont fit the mainstream player of the game and the experimental content

The new game will be based on what made Borderlands so successful (including successful DLC) and then build off of that game

I'm happy being offered both these days. It's been confirmed that we're getting Borderlands 2 months ago, for those who want to keep on trying different scenarios there's going to be DLC

I'd rather have Borderlands 2. But for the people who buy all the DLC (Such as myself) I think should get some special bonuses in Borderlands 2.

Well since part of the company can do DLC and the other can do "Borderworlds" I want both.

More DLC but I don't want it to be Fall 2011 and there still is no news of a sequel but a new 2 hour DLC pack on the way.

I'd rather have the DLC.

$10 each time and it adds alot of content.

A new game is $60 that means 6 DLC packs.

A sequel would be nice. Same gameplay, better story and greater length. I loved the FPS/RPG elements and I wish it was done more. I get bored of the most basic versions of both, so this was a great change of pace. A second version would be welcomed.

I'm sitting on the opinion fence. I love the DLC and look forward to a sequel. Zombie Island and Secret Armory were great, and while Moxxi's isn't everyone's cup of tea, at least it was relatively adventurous. I don't think things should come down to the whole DLC vs Sequel thing. Otherwise you get another L4D2 boycotting petition.

Why have just one when you can have both. so what if you pay a little more. The DLC Gearbox has produced so far has been ridiculously value for money. In the same way as Fallout 3's DLC, I love them all, but I won't sniff that they not making anymore and have moved onto New Vegas....so to speak.

Sequel. I'd rather spend more money for a new game than stuff for the first.

And if there was very little DLC for the first game, people would be peeved and question the whole reason for DLC in the first place. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

I'd prefer a sequel. After the lack of fast travel in General Knoxx, I'd rather not have to continue dealing with that irritating issue.

I prefer the DLC, but i wouldnt mind a sequel--they just better put more time into developing a better story, the story from this one was pretty bland

One more DLC raising the level cap even more, and then make Borderworlds or Borderlands 2 or whatever the hell you want to call it.

Well the problem with expansions is that they don't fix the fundamental flaws that a true sequel could do. I have problems with the lack of character customization; both in appearance and in skill tree: 1. Why bother giving the characters names if they have no personality? Why not instead allow me to customize the gender, face, hair, skin tone, height-weight proportions, and wardrobe of a character? 2. Okay, one actual special ability and a bunch of stat modifiers? How about giving me a little more variety in special ability options?

i like that, maybe pick 1 of 3 special abilities and then have 3 skill trees that branch off that, specific to the skill you have chosen

I'd prefer DLC if it's as good as General Knoxx.

The General Knoxx DLC gave me a reason to continue playing my character, so more DLC like that would be great. They're not gonna be able to release a sequel anytime soon, so they can keep the good DLC coming for now.

BORDERLANDS 2!!!! I prefer if they had borderlands 2 beacause i cant exactly download the DLCs cause they take forever (800mg 1gig 1.6gig) and now they are putting teasers in the orginal game (lvl 54 weapons that cant be used) is really dog. Dog being just plane mean and cruel for no reason eg someone dumping there girlfriend on there birthday and calling them ugly which ive seen happen (the evil dog). It wasnt me by the way.

Keep the dlc rolling if that means Bordlerands isn't gonna turn into another yearly sequel affair. And entire game may be more content but when sequels for a series start getting churned out at a yearly rate your more likely to get burned out on it and the more likely the differences from sequel to sequel will be minimal.

I'd rather see a sequel with a real story.
