Does anybody know what it is? I fired up my level 50 last night and found that his experience bar was going up

Once your level 50 bar hits the max it's done. Although a new DLC is coming soon with a level cap boost.

Yup, new DLC is gonna raise the cap, I'm just not sure how high it'll go.

They have not said what the new cap will be. Shoot, they just told us the name and it will be bigger than the other DLC. Details are thin at this time.
