I am comparing a Blockbuster vs. a highly misunderstood game. Bioshock is a awesome game and a huge hit. The Darkness really blew me away but some people have never even heard of it? Which do you prefer?

I definitely prefer Bioshock...it's probably going to be one of the most memorable gaming experiences of this console generation.

However, I do have to acknowledge that the Darkness is a really good game in its own right.

definately BioShock, no question. I got really far in The Darkness, but seriously the game can't compare to BioShock. Maybe up against Halo 3, but not Bio.

Both are great single player games IMO. I would say buy one and rent the other.

I definitely think The Darkness was extremely underrated... but between the two I'd have to say BioShock.

I have both and highly prefer Bioshock over The Darkness. I haven't played it for over 6 months, I just can't get back into it. Bioshock 8.9/10, The Darkness 7/10 at best.

I played through Bioshock and loved every second of it and plan on playing through it again.

I played through The Darkness and couldnt stop thinking about how I just want this game to end. Im glad I played it and even more glad I dont have to play it again.

Apocalypse324

Then why do you keep playing? return it if possible or trade it in. Its not like a movie that you have to sit through.

And on topic...Bioshock, so much better. I havnt played the darkness but ive heard that its quite fun, not great but not bad.

I'd say Bioshock first. The Darkness was an extremely satisfying game with a great story plus it's pretty cheap. I say Bioshock now then in alittle bit you'll be able to purchase the darkness.

First of all even a movie you dont HAVE to sit through.

Second, I keep playing because there are many games that might not seem very good but after a while you start to get into and actually end up liking. Also, I like giving my views on a game to help people out by seeing what different people think about the it and I find it stupid when people praise/trash a game that they have not played through. People cant properly go through and review a game or give their full oppinions on it if they havent played through it. Sure you might like or dislike it, but if you havent finished it you cant know the full outcome of it. You brought up movies and it is like the same thing, you cant properly judge a movie by watching half of it.

Like I said, Im glad I played it and if someone has an interest in it I would tell them to play it, but I would also let them know that overall I didnt enjoy it as much as a lot of people.

Hmm. Difficult since they have very different playstyle and they are, in my opinion, both good games. I have both so... I think they both should be played.

I loved both games. I do believe that Darkness was underrated. I purchased Bioshock and rented The Darkness. Both, however, were great games for only a signle playthrough. I should have only rented Bioshock.

You should never judge a game on a short, quick-cut demo. I'll admit the darkness demo wasn't exactly top notch, but the full game is truly awesome. I've played both Bioshock and the Darkness, and I find The Darkness superior in every aspect.

Its a darker, more mature game, with darker characters, a more sinister plot and ultimately, has a darker and grittier feel to it.

If found certain gameplay mechanics of Bioshock under-developed - and I also found it too easy. (anyone else feels this way?)

They both have excellent gameplay and graphics so it's hard to pick between the two - but I think the Darkness is really underrated and under-appreciated.

I played bioshock for about 5 minutes, I could not get into it. The Darkness I couldn't stop playing. I thought that the story was incredible and the darkness powers were off the chain, what other game can you eat a guys face then feast on his heart

BioShock > Darkness.

The Darkness was quite good, enjoyed the story and gameplay but it's nothing compared to the former. Every aspect of it blows it away.

BioShock, you don't only get a great storyline, but you also get a solid FPS with some scares to mix up the combat. I played the Darkness demo, but I felt it wasn't a game for me so I never bought. They are both great games in their own right, but it depends on what you really like.

Wow I never really thought of that but I guess you could compare these games. BioShock is one of the best games period. So of course I pick BioShock. I guess what puts it over the top is the amount of things you can do in the game. Like make ammo, get different weapons, use the environment to your advantage, etc. But the Darkness is a gr8 kick ass game right behind BioShock in my opinion. B4 BioShock came out the Darkness was the best in this genre imo. If u haven't played the Darkness u might want to rent it and give it a shot. The Darkness is just an extremely underrated game. Your demon powers kick ass and the little minions are hilarious. Spoiler alert: They shouldn't have sent you to hell imo. I think that is where the game tends to fall short, but when you are in NY it's crazy!

I prefer Bioshock, but the Darkness was a really amazing game, came out of no where. But I guess I should have seen it coming since the developer who made the Chronicles of Riddick made it.

I can't remember the Darkness demo but I would highly recommend this game. This is not one of those games u can judge by a demo. Dude they had people breakdancing in the subway station in this game! U had snake arms coming out of your back that bit peoples faces off! Then you would eat their hearts for energy I think! Man this game was the $hit!

Bioshock its far superior to the Darkness which I enjoyed but after a while of playing I got really bored with it granted that didnt happen to till the end, I'd rather Play Bioshock and read the Darkness comics
