Bioshock, Little Sisters - Harvest or Rescue?

So i've come to my first delema in the game, should I Rescue the little sisters? or harvest them? which one is better, i know that harvest gives more atoms, but do they come back to help me if i rescue them, later on in the game?

dont worry no spoilers

if you rescue without harvesting a single one u will get the good ending

but if u harvest at least one u will get the bad ending

even if u rescue 20 and harvest 1 u will get the bad ending

Here's the adam that you get:

Rescue: 80 adam per little sister, plus an extra 200 for every 3 you rescue as well as tonics and 2 plasmids that you can't get otherwise. There are 21 in the game.

3080 total adam

Harvesting: 160 adam per sister. 3360 total, no extra rewards.

Considering on my first run through I rescued all of the little sisters and bought everything with about 200 adam left over, the only reason you should harvest the little sisters is if you want to upgrade your guy fast or if you want to see the "bad" ending.

So, I guess I'm screwed huh? I've been harvesting like crazy...yup...sure have. I thought that's what I was supposed to do. Besides that stupid "Atlas" guy kept eggin' me on about it!

Me: ...I dunno Atlas. It seems a lil' cruel to...you know..."harvest" little girls. Do you think it would be better if I just--

Atlas: NO DAMNIT! You harvest those lil' monsters RIGHT FREAKIN' NOW! Now do it!...I said DO IT! Don't make me come down there and put my FOOT up your ASS!

Me: *starts crying* OKAY OKAY! I'll do it! *voice cracks* J-Just p-please don't yell at me anymore! *whimpers*

Atlas: Yeah, that's right. You're nothing but a lil' b****......STOP CRYIN' FREAK!

Well, that's pretty much how it always turns out. What do I do?

Rescue all- good ending

Harvest all- Bad ending

Alternate- different ending (supposedly)

What? What do you mean? The ending is "would you kindly harvest the little monsters?" I don't get it.
