i am indeed very impressed by the demo, so, i'm going to try to be the 1st one to get it when it comeout!!! do u guys think this game has the potential of GTA fame? or close to it? anyway i love the fact that's a GTA w/ super human power!!!:D
Yes, Im excited for Crackdown, and judging from the demo, I don't think It should have gotten less than an 8.7. However, I don't believe it will be more popular than GTA. Gta has worked itself into popular culture, especially in teenagers. Whenever I talk to someone at school about video gaming, they always relate to san andreas, or go on a rant about noobs in WoW. World of Warcraft has also surprisingly embedded itself into teenage gaming, which is substantial, because one would think it would be considered quite nerdy and/or uncool.
Yeh, I am looking forward to playing it. I have tried to not play the demo too much so that I don't spoil the experience of the full game. Also, sunnystarz, unfortunately you are going to be about a week late to be the 1st one to get it when it comes out...some people already have it. Sadly I'm not one of those people though.
I still am. I never expected that game to be long, unlike the reviewers thought. The game will be a blast to play, and I can't wait until next week to finally get a chance to play the full thing!

Meanwhile all us older quite nerdy andor uncool adult gamers look at that game and think "Been there, done that".

I'd say crackdown deserves a solid 9. Yet your right... GTA will always be bigger. After playing Crackdown I don't think I can go back to normal sandbox games... that taste of power... must have more...
I am so stoked for Crackdown! The demo was awsome and have been playing it steady. Already have preorderd the game from futureshop, had to because there was sale where 10$ could be saved, couldn't resist. STOKED

Looking at the ratings it's been getting it's definately NOT a GTA level. I think this game sucks...but I'll make my final judgment when I get the full copy.
First three hours are a blast, but it gets tired quickly. Played in bursts it's a riot, but the trouble is it's the same thing over and over again, with little else to distract you (although trying to climb the ferris wheel was fun and kept me busy for over two hours). I did the first two isalnds in about 5 hours, and haven't picked it up for over a week (I'm still hopelessly addicted to Test Drive, and I haven't finished Gears yet), but I'll prob come back to crackdown soon, it is fun.
i cant wait for this game... once you finish the missions then you can just go arond the city and cause sensless desturction. thats what i do in GTA... see how long you can go before they have to call in the SWAT team and national guard on you. That always adds hours to a game for me and its a lot of fun. Anyway have mine pre ordered and hopefully will have it this tuesday or wednesday, whenver they are going to release it here.
no i hated the demo, the story is almost non existent and the gameplay is more repetitive than some of halo's level designs, top it off with just plain bad a.i. and you dont got crackdown, you got crapdown, this is one of the first games that i have legitimatly hated, its so bad, and i mean BAD!
I was gonna pick up until I read the review that said the game wasnt very long. Gears of war is the last game I'll ever buy for full price thats short.
Im getting it for two reasons 1) Co-Op (First Im gonna go through and collect a good amount of agility orbs, then me and a friend will go through the whole game together on live, of course not all at once) 2) Halo 3 beta (duh!) If the game didn't have those things in it I probibly wouldn't even rent it.
