I am going to buy an Xbox 360, and I want to know what my chances of getting the RROD are? Are the chances of it happening good...is it just a possibility, or is it a rare occurence? Also is the warranty on the 20gb models 3 years?

last i checked, it's 33% chance that it'l'l happen to you at least once along the line. That said, chances are significantly slimmer if you have a newer model with the Falcon chipset, which greatly reduces overheating.

The warrantee on the 20gb model is 3 years ONLY for red light issues, any and all other problems are 1 year.

I don't think the 20GB models have the Falcon chipset, but the Elite and the new 60GB models do. TBH, you're better of buying the new 60GB model for only $50 extra as it has a lesser chance of overheating with the upgraded chipset, and you get 40GB more memory. :D

Actually, recent 20GB 360s do have the Falcon chipset. You can tell by checking the box. If it says it has a 175 Watt power supply, it's a Falcon. If it says 203 Watts, it's an old one and is more likely to get the RRoD (and must have been sitting around in the store for a REALLY long time).

Buy the 20g with a 3-year $50 warranty from the store you buy it in (in my case best buy) if you can't find any 60g.
