I keep ringing this number to get technical support...but nothing connects.

Can someone tell me the actual number, without the letters, so I know i'm getting it right?

I live in the UK, is there a seperate number I can ring?

Telling me the number doesn't exist (What the hell?). Do I need to put dashes in there...is that even possible on a phone. (Jesus I should really know these things..)

Yeah most likely, the only other number is "International"...and that also "Isn't recognised" by any phone either.
