Does anyone know if the DVD player on the XBox is compatible with DivX movies?
As far as I know it only plays DVDs and VCDs, you can always change your divx files to VCD, although it's a long process unless you have a pretty powerful machine and it will take about double the file size.
i played one divx dvd fine, i've got a phillips dvd drive (2003)but the next one the screen froze about 10 mins in, and none since. so it won't play them reliably. my best advice is any cd/dvd you want to play on the xbox, burn at the slowest speed possible, 2X for me.
