As decided by you, the ECW fans, Rob Van Dam will challenge Lashley for the ECW World Title on Tuesday night on the very first ECW on Sci Fi of 2007. Will Lashley, who has rolled through every obstacle thrown in his path, emerge victorious from yet another major challenge or will the new year bring in a new champion?

The three ECW.com poll candidates – RVD, Test and Sabu – faced each other in a Triple Threat Match on the last ECW on Sci Fi. Test made a case why he should be the man to challenge Lashley for the gold when he pinned Sabu. Still, it is RVD who gets to move forward with a title opportunity. Could this contest yield new rivalries between these frustrated Extremists who haven’t reached the goal they set since December to Dismember?

ECW on Sci Fi proved to be a huge night with the in-ring debut of The Great Khali. The Punjabi giant showed no mercy as Shannon Moore became the first of what is sure to be a long list of victims. How much damage can the tandem of Khali and Daivari create?

Also, the rivalry between CM Punk and Hardcore Holly heated up as Holly challenged Punk to make him tap out in three minutes. Punk locked him in the Anaconda Vise, but Holly held on without conceding. What else could develop between these two adversaries?

Find out the answers Tuesday when live action returns to ECW on Sci Fi at 10/9 CT.

What would be so efficient about having two faces fight for the title? I know they want ratings, but this will probably just make everything a little more lame.

Then again, they did it as Wm22 with Trips and Cena.

I mean...its classic...or is that predicable...character interaction to have jealous heel (Test) who feels that he has been cheated of victory, prize or recognition that he is deserving of, in which the face (RVD) holds in some shape or form...

...and therefore...as someone else has already mentioned...what will probably happened is that Test...in all likely hood...will interfere in the match in order to 'steal' RVD of his title victory from Lashley...

Uh.....ok then. How will that up the ratings again. That match will still likely suck, despite how much Tazz and Styles hype exactly the way you did.

Lashley will win and make everyone angry, then when Lashley doesn't expect it BOOMVandamnator (I think that's misspelled) to Lashley.

RVD heel turn at the end of the show with Joey saying OH MY GOD, lots of times.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if RVD wins the strap tonight. The road to WrestleMania 23 is underway and I feel the ECW Title needs a long feud to arise real soon. With Lashley as champ though? No. I hope RVD kicks off ECW this year on a positive note by winning the strap. It's as simple as that.hbk91

here's the thing, even though the fans have pretty much turned on Lashley, they are gonna have him keep the belt because:

1) this will ruin any credibility he has and will be worse than a squash from HHH

2) he's still being groomed for higher places (i.e. Raw)

3) Vince doesn't have any confidence in RVD or any of the ECW Originals

4) it's face vs. face, of course the champ is gonna retain.

5) Test is gonna interfere

Yeah, so to follow up, I wasn't paying attention to Test-Sabu in the background, so what do I see when I do actually check in on the match?  ... a bear hug!  A freakin' bear hug.  Boy, I've been missing out.

Wasn't paying attention to FBI vs Smackdown Rejects, I wonder if I should have, even though anyone who has watched any Entertainment Championship Wrestling knew who was winning.  Poor FBI.

Well, it was the first Bobby Lashley match I've even remotely liked.  A few nice little counters and combos and Lashley finally wrestled about half as powerful as he looks.  I'll almost try to ignore that there were even more freakin' bearhugs.  That was not a satisfying finish, whatsoever.  At least when they pulled this **** off for Mysterio-Sabu, it was a legit dangerous looking spot.  At least it didn't involve Mr. Personality, though.

I liked Tommy Dreamer's promo and I liked Holly's little snippet.  Too bad Dreamer is being punished with Khali duty and Holly continues to be Holly.

An hour of freakin' bearhugs.
