Please note that today's account login maintenance will only affect you if you are not already logged in. Once the routine begins, nobody will be able to log into GameSpot for the next 8-9 hours.
What I would do is simply log yourself out about 2-3 hours prior to this time frame just in case your cookie's automated expiration occurs during this time. Do NOT clear your cookies in your brwoser as this will also cause you to log out as well.
As mentioned in the latest community news, the site will have less activity in the forums, blogs, and other related member content because not everyone keeps themselves logged in. You can definitely lock yourself in by taking the tips provided.
Also, if you don't make it in before the lock, your other options to keep in touch with other GameSpotters is probably via our Facebook or Youtube pages. :)
